The Campaign to End Loneliness invites health and wellbeing board representatives to join a webinar on 23 November from 9 – 10am to find out how boards can reduce and prevent loneliness in older age, after it has been included in their JSNA and Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

The issues of loneliness and social isolation have been recognised as a significant health and care issue by a number of adult social care, public health and NHS teams. This webinar will be an opportunity to share early success and discuss common problems with other health and wellbeing boards in a similar situation.

Places for next month’s webinar are limited and we will be prioritising health and wellbeing board members. If you are working for a board that has addressed the issue of loneliness in your JSNA and JHWS, or you are planning to include it at a future stage, then we would like to invite you to register for the webinar on 23 November.

This is to ensure that boards are supported in how they implement actions in a strategy, establish what commissioning might need to be conducted, and how they form partnerships with the voluntary sector or other statutory bodies.

To register, please contact David Harrison at the Department of Health at healthandwellbeingboards@dh.gsi.gov.uk and briefly explain how your board is working to reduce loneliness, or what they intend to do.

All you will need for the webinar is a computer and a phone. Alternatively, you can join by smart phone.
